Absence/Tardies
Email Mrs. Murdock at acsaregistrar@nomeschools.org (preferred) or call 443-6207 (back-up option) if your child will be absent or tardy. For appointments during the school day, pre-arrange to pick up your student by contacting Mrs. Murdock. Use the WEST entrance door to pick up your child and complete the sign-out sheet that is posted inside near the door. Parents must submit the Planned Absence Form for a planned absence of three (3) or more days. Students must complete the Absence Assignment Form upon their return to school from a planned or unplanned absence. Students may use Google Classroom to access and turn in assignments when absent. Notify the school if internet access is an issue, and we will work with you to make other arrangements. Athletics and Cheerleading
Students are allowed to participate in elementary and junior high athletics and cheerleading. Band Students are allowed to participate in elementary and junior high band. Breakfast Free breakfast will be provided at the Beltz cafeteria for students who ride the bus. Students that do not ride the bus who wish to partake in the free breakfast should be dropped off at the Beltz entrance between 8:45 and 8:55 and proceed directly to the cafeteria. Bus

Lunch and Outdoor Time
Free lunch is available to all students in the Beltz cafeteria. Students will have assigned seats in the lunchroom; students will help choose their seats. After lunch, students will go outdoors for 20 minutes. Bring appropriate outdoor gear. |
Progress Reports
The staff will use e-mail to communicate with parents regarding student progress. The staff will also keep students and parents informed of a student’s progress by utilizing the Power School web site, which posts student grades on-line, with password protection. School Calendar
Our students follow the Nome Public Schools approved school calendar including no school days and minimum days. ![]()
School Drop Off and Pick Up Locations
**Drop off BEFORE school on the WEST side of the building. Enter at stairs under the main ACSA sign. (However, if your child wishes to partake in the free breakfast, then drop off at the main Beltz entrance between 8:45- 8:55.) **Pick up AFTER school on the EAST side of the building. Staff Expectations
The teaching staff has high expectations of each and every student, both academically and socially. With these high expectations, students will be given numerous opportunities to succeed in schoolwork and social development. We want each student to strive to do his or her very best in every endeavor. Washington, DC Trip for 8th Grade Students
Eighth grade students are invited to participate in an end of year trip to Washington, DC. We will release information as it becomes available for the 2023 trip. Water Bottles
